Srinagar: Renowned artist and graphic designer and staff member of the University of Kashmir, Akhter Rasool died Sunday morning of cardiac arrest at his home in the Babapora neighborhood of Habba Kadal, in downtown Srinagar.
Sources said Akhtar had been complaining of shortness of breath for several days.
Akhter, an alumnus of the Institute of Music and Fine Arts at the University of Kashmir, was currently working at the University’s Educational Media Research Center (EMRC).
His disappearance was widely tolerated.
University of Kashmir Vice-Chancellor Professor Talat Ahmad, Registrar Dr Nisar A Mir and other university officers and officials also regretted his sad passing on Sunday.
In his message of condolences, Professor Talat, while praying for eternal peace to the deceased soul, expressed his sincere condolences to the bereaved family at this time of mourning. He said Akther was a talented graphic designer whose contributions to the branding and promotion of the university through his professional endeavors will always be remembered.
Registrar Dr Mir, who visited the bereaved family to express his condolences and condolences, described Akhtar as a very knowledgeable professional whose work would speak for itself.
“In his death we have lost a very capable and hardworking employee whose void is difficult to fill,” said Mir.

Rasool’s last rites and later visited the bereaved family to express their condolences and sympathies.
A separate condolence meeting was organized by EMRC under the chairmanship of Dr Salima Jan. The meeting was attended by EMRC staff where tributes were paid to Akther Rasool.
